Systematic Treatment Selection (STS) is an evidence-based method that guides the clinician in treatment planning based on the client’s qualities and problem characteristics. There are 6 variables that said to be predictors for therapy outcome. These dimensions include predisposing characteristics of the client, treatment features, relationship variables, and selection of intervention. This method starts with assessing the client’s functional impairment, social support, problem complexity, the client’s way of coping, resistance levels, and level of distress.
