The climate change, a social problem.
Consequences of climate change. 17-02-2021
โ— Thaw and
rising sea level.
โ— Extreme
weather
conditions and
increased
precipitations.
โ— Consequences
for Europe.
โ— Implications for
developing
countries.
โ— Dangers to
human health.
โ— Costs for
society and the
economy.
โ— Risks to nature
There are many problematic, and dangerous consequences
caused by climate change:
Global warming is causing the ice sheets at the poles and
glaciers to melt, and this causes the rising ocean level,
causing flooding and erosion in coastal and low-lying areas.
Extreme weather conditions and increased rainfall provoke
inundations, deterioration of water quality, and even in some
areas a progressive decrease in water resources.
-Southern and central Europe are increasingly experiencing
heat waves, forest fires and droughts.
-The Mediterranean area is vulnerable to drought and fires.
-In northern Europe it is clearly transforming into a more humid
area.
-Urban areas are exposed to heat waves, floods or rising sea
levels, and they are often not well equipped to adapt to changes
in climate.
Habitants of developing countries tend to depend closely on
the natural environment and they have less resources to cope
with climate change.
-Increase in the number of deaths caused by high
temperatures.
-Distribution of some waterborne diseases.
The destruction of some buildings and the deaths of some
people, have caused a decrease in the economy.
Agriculture, forestry, energy and tourism were especially
affected by temperatures and precipitations.
Climate change is happening so fast that many species of plants
and animals are having trouble adapting, which is why they are
disappearing or moving to other habitats.
This is probably in aument through the years.
Climate change affects all regions of the world. The polar caps are melting and the sea
level is rising. In some regions, extreme weather events and floods are becoming more
frequent, and in others there are heat waves and droughts, causing problems for living.
Due to this problem, species of plants and animals disappear.
