Part II
1. Watch closely two persons communicating with each other. Note the various signs and
symbols used for interaction. Analyze how their roles as sender and receiver interchange while
interacting. Examine if there is any noise or barrier existing in their communication. If yes,
observe the effect of the noise on the communication process. Chose another situation where
noise/barrier is affecting communication. Analyze the causes leading to noise/barriers and the
steps that can be taken to remove them.

While the sender is talking the receiver is listening carefully by making eye contact and trying to figure out
the meaning of the message to avoid misinterpretation since the sender is deaf. She is asking the sender to
repeat what she said in order for her to properly understand what she meant. The linguistic barrier is the one
leading to miscommunication since she has a difficulties when speaking but by fully understanding the her
gestures and sign language of the sender, she was able to get it.
2. Plan an effective communication strategy to communicate your views on any topic to a group
of 20 adults.
- Stay calm and get their attention first
- Use a microphone and speak slowly & clearly at the same time
- Avoid using jargon and filler words when speaking to the audience
- Use verbal and non-verbal signal for better interaction
- Send more detailed and comprehensible ideas
- Asked for their feedback
