What should we be utilizing in the Vendor Code Column? Please use your Zappos Supplier Name Vendor SKU – What is it being utilized within the catalog? Can I utilize the brands internal vendor SKU here? Please use the UPCs/EANs. Vendor SKU is a unique identifier within the Amazon Catalog that correlates to the vendor code assigned to each supplier. This vendor code does not need to match the vendor code brands internally utilize or provided to Amazon. Zappos utilizes UPCs across systems to uniquely tie ASIN and UPC together. What is the difference between style name and style number? You can utilize tool tips (row 3) to see exactly what is required in those fields and how to format What goes in column D, “Item Name”? (utilize the tool tips – utilize brand name not supplier name) o Brand Name + Department + Style Name + Color + Size + Width/Inseam (if applicable) o You can utilize tool tips (row 3) to see exactly what is required in this field and how to format o Within the VSSC Training Materials, you will find an Item Name Concatenation Template, which is a very helpful resource to completing this column correctly. Why is MSRP recommended and wholesale pricing required? It is recommended due to legality reasons; the brand cannot advise the merchant what to price their goods at but can suggest a wholesale price. Additionally, the number in MSRP should always be higher than the wholesale price otherwise it will throw an error upon upload. What if I send style information to both Zappos and Amazon? If you’re submitting data to both Amazon and to Zappos for a product, please make sure that the data across websites are consistent to reduce conflicting catalog data. i.e. color name submitted to Amazon is Fire Engine Red, color submitted to Zappos is Red. This would create an error at time of publishing. My Footwear has Fur but, I don’t see where I am supposed to enter in the fur information. Where is it? Footwear item contains fur description you will need to go back to column V and notate to open up the values for the fur attribute value. Can we upload case packs? Due to system limitations, Zappos does not have the capability to upload case pack UPCs.
Why are there different formats for the dates I enter on the spreadsheet? o Amazons system require different formatting based on the attribute. o You can utilize tool tips (row 3) to see exactly what is required in this field and how to format Will the form warn me if I have entered information incorrectly? This is a limitation for phase 1 on Zappos end. Within Amazons systems they have data validations that immediately alert you if something is incorrect. It is on the roadmap to enhance the vendor experience. Can the vendors provide a URL for vendor imagery at NIS just like Amazon does? Zappos does image and list imagery different than Zappos. At this time, Zappos will continue to utilize the current imagery pathways. Why are there two sets of Footwear Size attributes? For unisex products, where a men’s and women’s size would need to be selected Why are only US sizes accepted? Zappos is required to publish catalog information to the Amazon catalog systems, which only accepts US sizing What if my product is not in a US size? Provide the US conversion sizing on the VSSC template, when the product is live on the site it will display both sizes. What is the different between “Item Name” and “Style Name”? The Item Name is very specific breakdown of what the product is, this is because this is what the warehouse sees when they are stowing the item. The Style Name is for the customer, and should be written how it should be displayed on this site. For columns with drop down information, can I copy and paste my information? Yes, but please make sure to select the option from the dropdown and then copy/paste rather than type it in. If it's not selected from the dropdown, the tool will throw an error. (ie: dropdown option is Adult and ADULT was manually typed in, which would result in an error.) Do I have to choose the options from the dropdown? Yes. Please do not fill in those cells with anything other than one of the options from the dropdown. If you write in your own info on any "required" columns with a dropdown selection, the tool will throw an error. Please make sure to select the option from the dropdown and then copy/paste rather than type it in. If it's not selected from the
Where can I locate the templates? Vendor Resources under Zappos Drop Ship Program - Product Setup Training. You’ll find Apparel Templates, Footwear Templates or Handbag, Jewelry, and Accessory Templates. Make sure to look through all of the templates to ensure that you select the most appropriate template. Why are there so many templates? Why not just combine it all into one? We are using the templates that are required by Amazon for publication. At this time, we are unable to edit or combine forms as it will cause the system to reject the form entirely. This is something we’re hoping will change in the future, but for now, they must all be separate templates. Can I save a version of these templates for future use? We’d advise against it. We are constantly updating these templates to ensure that we’re meeting Amazon publication guidelines as well as for user functionality. To ensure that you’re using the most up to date version of our template, please download a fresh template from the Vendor Resources page each time you need to have new styles uploaded. Can I delete tabs (i.e. instructions?) No, please don’t delete any tabs. There are imbedded macros within the tab for our Ops team's use in generating the templates they need for upload How are we to submit completed templates? Please feel free to submit the completed template to your Zappos buyer. The buyer will then submit the completed templated to our Zappos New Item Setup team. What if my Outer/Lining/Insole material is not listed within the dropdown provided? You are free to leave those cells blank if there isn’t a suitable option, but since these are required attributes, please list out the materials under one of the Bullet Point columns. i.e. Lining: Nylon, Upper/Outer: EPA, Insole: Microfiber Red Cells, Blue Cells and Gray – oh my! What do the colors mean? Please fill in any red and blue outlined cells. Anything in highlighted in grey should remain blank as it is not required and will result in an error upon upload. Red cells are required for upload and a selection MUST be made from the dropdown otherwise it will result in an error. Blue cells are not required for upload but ARE required for the product description and go-live. For Blue cells, if none of the options from the dropdown apply, you are welcome to leave them blank and include that information in either the bullet point or product description columns. Note – this only applies to blue cells.
Why am I not seeing the proper product category or subcategory listed? It’s possible your product category or subcategory is listed under another template. i.e. you’re using shoes but maybe sports shoes or sandals would be more appropriate. I already filled in color. Is ‘base color’ required? Yes. Please choose the most dominant color of the product. If this field is left blank, this will cause an error during uploading. Size Class – Numeric, Range? Pay special attention to the selection you make here, ensuring it is accurate for the size of your product. Selecting alpha or numeric, for example, would indicate that your item features only one size. (Small, Size 9, etc). If you select anything with a range, that would indicate that the size of your item is a range of multiple sizes (ie: 6-8 or SM-MD), and would result in ‘conditionally required’ cells becoming ‘required’ and turning white with a red outline. Do I need to fill in the Dangerous Goods, Mandatory Cautionary Statement and the Material/Fabric Regulations columns? Yes, these are required columns that are required for upload. You can utilize tool tips (row 3) to see exactly what is required in this field and choose the appropriate selection from the dropdown.
