WEEK 6 – Key Concept of the Week

Structure :

Any or all of the social forces that affect an individual,

community or group

Examples: Money, policies, education, lack of education,

neighbourhood, employment, lack of employment, violence

A vs. S - 2

Agency :

Any or all of the actions that an individual, community or

group undertakes in response to various structures

Examples: Apply for a scholarship, organize a protest, practice

a skill, exercise or train, engage in violence
