What is semantic analysis
Semantic analysis is the study of semantics, or the structure and meaning of speech. Itis the job of a
semantic analyst to discover grammatical patterns, the meanings ofcolloquial speech, and to uncover
specific meanings to words in foreign languages. Inliterature, semantic analysis is used to give the work
meaning by looking at it from thewriter’s point of view
Semantic analysis on text
figure out the meaning of linguistic input (construct meaning representations) = process language to
produce common-sense knowledge about the world (extract data and construct models of the world)
