The Self-Directed Learner
In the ongoing assignment I will be talking about the self-directed learning what exactly it
is, what are its strengths, weaknesses, and what are my strategies to become a more self-
directed learner. Now to be able to answer those questions I would need to read everything in
the reading assignment of this week, after all I feel curious learn more about it so I can
become a better learner, for my studies in UoPeople.
Self-directed learning it is a process by which individuals take the initiative, with or
without the assistance of others, in diagnosing their learning needs, formulating learning
goals, identifying human and material resources for learning, and evaluating learning
outcomes [1], as it is been provided to in our reading materials. In the explanations o self-
directed learning, we can understand the essentials too, the main essential it is to diagnose our
learning needs. After that you will start use autodidactism. Since I am Greek I am able to
fully understand the entire meaning of this. So you need to have some basis in learning
different stuff, also you need to have the will to learn and not being putting obstacles to
yourself, and the main thing it is to know how to do research and not being afraid to
experiment, even if you make a mistake that’s how you really learn stuff . It is all in our
mindset on how we can get things done and learn, let us not forget something that we
consider fact in our life other people learned them by experimenting, so critical thinking and
creative thing it is a must for a self-directed learner.
As we go on I’ve present my biggest strengths when I am reading and studying. I have a
great memory that I can remember a lot of information given to me, also use critical thinking
