Connor was having a recurrent night dream but he didn´t want to tell anyone about it
His mom has cancer and he doesn´t wanna tell anybody about that either
One night he starts hearing weird sound after waking up at midnight because of that recurrent bad
dream
It turned out to be the yaw tree that is in the back of his house that turned into a monster, but he
was not afraid of this monster, because he says that he has seen worse, so this tree monster is
surprised that Connor is not scared
Connor also has problems at school bc some kids bully him bc of his mother illness
This monster tells Connor that he is going to start telling him three stories and then he had to tell
him his truth, the one he doesn´t wanna talk about
Connor´s grandma comes over to watch him and his mom, who is worse because of the cancer and
then they end up agreeing that Connor should go live with his grandma but he doesn´t want to bc
he does not like her. His grandma is not nice with him and treats him like he is only there to serve
her
Suddenly also his father, who never comes over and hardly ever calls, shows up saying that he
wants to spend time with him
They start talking and Connor tells him about this new monster and then ask to live with him
instead of living with her granny but he said no
Then he gets into his grandma’s house and start playing with stuff until he tries to stop the clock
bc the sound was irritating but he ended up braking it but the worst par was that it stopped at
12:07 (the hour he usually wakes up at midnight bc of the dream, and the hour the yew monster
appears)
Then the monster showed up and told him the second story and at the end, Connor started to tell
the monster to “destroy the parson´s house”, but once they´ve finished he realized it was not part
of the story and that he had destroyed his grandma´s house
Grandma got home and saw everything broken and started shouting. Then she went to her room
and Connor tried to clean something
His dad showed up and told him mum condition has changed
After school they went to visit her at the hospital and she told him he was taking a medication
made of yew tree, like the story it told him
Then he heard his dad and grandma shouting bc he had to get back to America and he told him the
medicine is not going to work and his mom is not ok but he was sure it would
After an incident at lunch with some kids the monster showed up to tell Connor the last story and
again what it said was really happen to Connor. The monster started to tell a story where a man
was not seen (not like really invisible) and then it started to hit harry, but it looked and felt like it
was Connor, so he got into trouble because of it
