Holi
Today, I’m going to talk about the festival of colors
called Holi. This festival is celebrated in India.
India is a wonderful place because It´s historic and
tourist. The capital of India is New Delhi. There are
many places to visit for example Taj Mahal and
Mumbai. Taj mahal is part of the seven wonders of
the world. India has beautiful views but the streets
are crowded. India is a religious country. It has
many religions. The people of India wear traditional
clothes. Women wear Sari, Sari is colorful, and men
wear kurta.
Holi takes place annually. Holi begins the first day of
spring in the afternoon and ends the second day of
spring in the morning in March. It lasts for two days.
It celebrates the arrival of the spring and the end of
the winter. It’s a religious festival.
On Holi, People usually eat puran poli, dahi vada,
moong dal ki kachori and drink thandai and bhang.
The most popular snack is moong dal ki kachori. It
has flour, salt, butter, water, moong dal, comino and
curcuma. The most popular drink is Thandai.
Thandai is an Indian cold drink made just for Holi.
On Holi, People wear white clothes. Over 2000
people attend this festival. People light bonfires,
throw powders of many colors called «gulal». The
ritual represents the victory of good over evil. Also
people sing and dance around the fire. The most
important colors of gulal are: Red represents love,
