Model answer Graph description
In the graph description exercise, you will be given data and information about a
topic related to accounting and/or economics. You must elaborate a brief text (250
words approx) describing the information you have in front of you. All the numbers
must be written in words (22.498$
twenty-two thousand four hundred and
ninety-eight). If you are given a very long set of statistics (as it is the case in the
example below), focus on some of the sections in the prompt (it would be
impossible for you to address ALL the information contained in that table). In some
cases, with shorter prompts, you’ll have to describe most of the information you’ve
been presented with. See the example below:
Monthly minimum wages - bi-annual data (report by Eurostat)
This is a very long and well-detailed table describing the minimum wage of a large
number of countries. The source of the data is Eurostat and the currency used is
the euro.
It’s worth highlighting that in some countries there have been very minor

with the highest minimum wage is Luxembourg, with one thousand four hundred
and ninety-eight point forty-seven euros. The country with the second highest
minimum wage is Ireland. The minimum wage is Ireland is one thousand six
hundred and thirteen point ninety-five euros. If we focus on Ireland, we can see
there has been a significant increase over the years. The minimum wage was
sensibly lower just four years ago: one thousand four hundred and sixty-one point
eighty-five. The table also shows us how there are some countries with no
minimum wage laws such as Cyprus, Italy, Finland or Sweden.
This contrasts with the countries with the lowest minimum wage: Bulgaria, Serbia,
Albania or Romania. Albania is the country with the lowest minimum wage in the
world: two hundred and eighty-four point forty-one euros.
As to/With regard to/Regarding the country with the biggest/most dramatic hikes
and drops, we find a number of countries: Romania, Slovakia or Turkey. Let’s pay
attention to the case of Turkey. In 2014, the minimum wage stood at three
hundred and sixty-one point seventy-six, but nowadays it stands at four hundred
and forty-six point forty.
