First we will start talking about the structures of comparatives and superlatives. In the first structure we have to add "r" in the comparatives and "st" in the superlatives when the syllable ends in "E" In the second structure we have to add "er" in the comparatives and "est" in the superlatives when a vowel and a consonant are at the end In the third structure we have to add "er" in the comparatives and "est" in the superlatives when there is more than one vowel or more than one consonant at the end
In the fourth structure we have to change "i" for "y" and we are also going to add "er" in the comparatives and "est" in the superlatives when there is a word with two syllables that ends in "y" In the fifth structure we have to add "more" in the comparatives and "most" in the superlatives when there is a word with two syllables or more that does not end in "y"
There are words that do not follow these rules, for example: Good-Better-Best Bad-Worse-Worst Fun-More fun-Most fun
