Charles Darwin was a British naturalist who proposed the theory of
biological evolution by natural selection. Darwin defined evolution as
"descent with modification," the idea that species change over time, give rise
to new species, and share a common ancestor.
Peel was considered one of the rising stars of the Tory party,
entering the government for the first time in 1822 as Minister
of the Interior, a position that until 1830 he held in various
governments.
