March 17th Yesterday was my birthday so my family had dinner in a restaurant in town. It’s an Italian restaurant, but they do all kind of different food there. There weren’t a lot of other people in the restaurant, so it was very quiet. The dinner was really nice. We started with tomato soup – It was delicious! Then I ordered beef with peppers and mushrooms. My parents ordered fish (they don’t eat meat) with tomato sauce and rice. And after that, we had ice cream, my favourite. The food was really good – I enjoyed my meal a lot. We don’t usually eat in restaurants so it was a special evening. When we finished the dinner, a waiter came over with a cake! It had 13 candle on it (of course!) and ‘Happy birthday Christie’ was int letter on the top of the cake. The waiters and my parents started to sing ‘Happy birthday to you’ and the other people in the restaurant joined in, too. At the endo of the song, everyone clapped – it was really nice! There was enough cake for us and for the other people in the restaurant, and there’s some in the fridge in our kitchen now! So, dinner tonight at our house is pasta and salad – and birthday cake!
