A report is a specific form of

writing whose object is to identify

and examine issues, problems

or events that have occurred

within an organisation, based on

previous research so that you

can provide recommendations.

Hints Use a clear layout:

  1. Divide your report into paragraphs according to the task.
  2. Include a heading in every paragraph apart form the main title.
  3. Mention the purpose of the report in the 1st paragraph.
  4. Develop the ideas/ report the results of your research, etc. in paragraphs 2 and 3.
  5. Give a clear summary of the situation(opinion) and a recommendation in the last paragraph. ELUSIVE WORD TO LEARN

Paragraphs 2, 3 Report your results: According to ... All those who were interviewed believe that/are concerned that... It is thought that... A cause of dissatisfaction was..
