IMMUNE SYSTEM
The immune system is the group of
organs that are in charge of
protecting our body from pathogens
that provoke illnesses in order to
maintain the stability of the body
functions, also known as
homeostasis, defense against tumor
cells, destruction of abnormal or
dead cells, defense against microbes.
Cardiovascular system

THAT COMFORM THE
IMMUNE SYSTEM

SKIN: Epidermis form a
shield and also secretes
chemicals in order to kill
the invaders.
MUCUS & CILIA: When
mucus become stuck,
hair-like structures
called cilia are in charge.
SALIVA: It contains many
chemicals that kill
bacteria, however, many
of those bacteria can
survive
STOMACH ACID: When
bacteria enter to your
stomach, it is broken
down with the same
chemicals that break
down the food you eat.
WHITE BLOOD CELLS
(WBC): When WBC
detect invaders, they
enter the body tissues
in order to attack
them.
PHAGOCYTES: They
are responsible to
break down those
invaders in lysosomes
Both of them are considered
invaders that causes diseases
Viruses and bacteria are transmitted
by vectors such as air, in water, or in
food.
To treat the diseases caused by them
there are different ways, for example
antibiotics and vaccines.
While bacteria is considered a living
organism, viruses are not
