American Culture
Good morning everyone. Today I am going to talk about American culture.
The United States is one of the most populated and ethnically diverse
countries in the world because of immigration from many different
nations. Although the United States has no official language, English is
the most spoken language.
American culture has had a profound influence around the world. For
example, Hollywood is the most dominant force in the cinema industry,
and American music styles such as jazz, rock, and hip hop are popular
worldwide. The United States is also recognized for many scientific and
technological innovations like the light bulb, the airplane, the personal
computer, video games, and the Internet.
Education is very important in American society. Students can attend
public, private, or home schools, and many young Americans move to
different states to study at universities.
Sports are also an essential part of American culture. American football is
extremely popular, especially the NFL. Basketball, represented by the
NBA, is another major sport, and baseball is known as the national sport
of the country.
American cuisine is very diverse too. Foods like hamburgers, hot dogs,
pizza, and barbecue are very common in the United States. In fact, the
country is widely associated with junk food and has one of the largest
fast-food industries in the world.
In conclusion, I think the United States is a very interesting country because
its music, movies, technology, and culture influence the whole world. I have
never visited this country, but I would like to someday because many famous
artists and trends come from there.
Thanksgiving Day
Good morning everyone. Today I am going to talk about Thanksgiving Day.
Thanksgiving is a national holiday celebrated in the United States on the
fourth Thursday of November. It is a very important day for Americans
because people give thanks for the blessings of the year. Families
usually get together, say prayers, and prepare traditional meals like
turkey, pumpkin pie, and other delicious food.
The history of Thanksgiving goes back more than 400 years. It began
when the Pilgrims arrived in America on a ship called the Mayflower.
They arrived during a very cold winter, and many people suffered
because they did not have enough food or supplies to survive.
Fortunately, the Wampanoag Indians helped the Pilgrims survive by
teaching them how to plant corn, grow crops, and build adequate
shelters.
After a successful harvest in Plymouth, Massachusetts, the Pilgrims
celebrated the first Thanksgiving to give thanks for surviving that difficult
year. Later, there was also a long drought that damaged their crops. The
people prayed for rain, and shortly after, it began to rain for nearly two
weeks, saving the harvest.
In conclusion, I think Thanksgiving is a beautiful tradition because it reminds
people to be grateful for the good things in life, spend time with family, and
appreciate everything they have.

Klamath Good morning everyone. Today I am going to talk about the Klamath myth about the origin of fire. The Klamath tribe lived in a cold and rugged land with volcanic mountains. According to this myth, the first man and woman on Earth suffered during winter because they had no fire, fur, or feathers to keep them warm. The animals pitied the humans and wanted to help them survive. One day, Coyote called a council of animals to find a solution. Crow, Squirrel, and Frog joined him. Crow said he had seen fire on the top of a mountain in the north, but it was protected by three giant guardians who took turns sleeping to guard it. The animals decided to steal the fire, and Coyote became the leader of the mission. They waited for the perfect moment, and then Coyote ran quickly to take the fire. However, one of the giants saw him and started chasing him. During the pursuit, the giant caught Coyote violently, and he dropped the fire. Then Squirrel tried to save it, and later Frog tried too, but both failed. Finally, the animals realized that the wood had swallowed the fire. They carried the wood back to the humans, and thanks to that, mankind learned how to make fire from wood and survive the cold winters. This myth also explains why Coyote’s mouth is black and singed, why Squirrel’s tail looks burned, and why Frog has no tail.

In conclusion, I think this is a very interesting and creative myth because it teaches us the importance of teamwork, courage, and helping others to survive.
