Chernobyl is a town located in northern Ukraine, within the Kyiv Oblast, near the border with Belarus. It became world-famous because of the nuclear accident that happened on April 26, 1986, at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. On that day, engineers were carrying out a safety test when reactor number 4 exploded suddenly. While the workers were operating the reactor, a series of mistakes occurred quickly and dangerously, and large amounts of radioactive material were released violently into the atmosphere. As a result, many people were evacuating calmly but urgently from nearby areas.
Long ago, people were telling stories that zombies were appearing in Chernobyl, but the legend was not true, After the nuclear accident in 1986, many people were telling exaggerated stories about what was happening in the Exclusion Zone. Some stories said that radiation had created zombie-like people or creatures suddenly and strangely, but there was no scientific evidence for this.
n reality: Radiation did not turn people into zombies People affected suffered seriously from health problems, not fictional transformations Animals in the zone were adapting slowly and carefully to the environment, but they were not monsters
Scientists studied the area seriously and methodically Photographers documented the zone respectfully and quietly
Chernobyl was located inside the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, an area with a radius of about 30 kilometers around the nuclear power plant. After the accident, the city of Pripyat was evacuated completely and permanently. While residents were leaving their homes hurriedly, the city became silent and empty.
Chernobyl was located approximately 110 kilometers from Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. While visitors were traveling by road, the journey usually took between 2 and 3 hours because security checks were being carried out carefully. Pripyat was only 3 kilometers away from the nuclear power plant. The border with Belarus was located about 15 kilometers away, so radioactive clouds spread rapidly and widely into that country. From Warsaw, Chernobyl was about 690 kilometers away, while from Berlin it was approximately 1,200 kilometers away. From Madrid, it was nearly 2,800 kilometers away by air, and from Mexico City, it was about 10,500 kilometers away

ACTIVITIES
Activities in Chernobyl were actions that were carried out in a limited and controlled way because radiation was present in the area. After the nuclear accident in 1986, most human activities were prohibited, and people left the zone quickly and permanently.
Guided tours were organized professionally for educational purposes Visitors walked slowly and carefully through the abandoned city of Pripyat
