Topic: “An important or special event in your past
Interaction: individual work
Timing: According to the completion of the task (2’ - 2:30’’)

Assessment criteria: Read the rubrics to check how your task will be
graded.
INSTRUCTIONS TO THE TASK
Talk about an important or special event in your past. Show some
photographs (if possible) or images to enhance your presentation.
Talk about an important or special event or experience in your life. Follow
these steps:
Step 1: Choose a special event or experience to talk about. Here are some
ideas:
An important event (getting a new job, graduating, etc.)
A special trip with your friends or family
An event you attended (a wedding, a birthday party, etc.)
Step 2: Describe the event. What happened? Where were you? Who was
with you? Use the simple past tense to tell your story.
Step 3: Explain why this event was so special or important to you. Use
adjectives to describe feelings and opinions.
1. Use proper vocabulary and structures:
- Grammar: phrases with simple past tense in positive and negative
statements.
- Vocabulary: time expressions that reflect actions happened in the past:
yesterday (morning / afternoon / evening / night), last Monday / weekend
/ month / July / year, 5 minutes / hours / months / years ago, in 2010, when
I was a child / 6 years old / in school.
2. Test your video works well before uploading it. If you use an external
service like YouTube, also test the link before posting it.
3. Submit your video. Read specific instructions about how to do it.
Note: If you use www.Youtube.com to make the video, change the video privacy setting
to “unlisted” so your teacher can view it but not strangers on the internet.
