SOME RULES:
If the verb ends in -e, we only add -d : like- liked If the verb ends in -y, we change the _y by -i and we add -ed: Try - tried But if the verb ends in vowel + y, we add -ed: Play - played Verbs monosyllables that ends in vowel + consonant, the consonant is doubled before -ed: stop - stopped
