Delegate’s Guide.
Our model of United Nations is based on sessions, the sessions are based mainly on three
parts:
The Speaker List.
It is the initial part of every topic in AEMUN, in this part, the delegates must read their
position paper in front of the committee, in addition to establishing an agenda; that is, the
time to read the position paper, number of allowed questions, follow ups, and comments
that can be made to each delegate who reads their position paper.
Moderate Debate.
In the moderate debate, you delegates must present your points of view and discuss
solutions to the problem being treated. At this stage it is recommended to have information
from both your country and others. *In this part you can use all the points except the "point
of information".
Immoderate Debate.
In the immoderate debate the house will be divided among those who are in favor or
against the subject to be treated. Both sides of the house should write a solution in order to
present it and put it to a vote in the committee, resulting in the resolution of the issue within
the committee.
Motions.
My delegation makes a motion to open/ close the session
My delegation makes a motion to open/ close speaker list
My delegation makes a motion to extend the time lapse so the delegate can finish
reading their position paper.
My delegation makes a motion to add (2 for example) more
questions/followups/comments.
My delegation makes a motion to open/ close the moderate/ immoderate debate
My delegation makes a motion to divide the house.
Yields
My delegation yields the time to the floor.- Delegate gives the extra time to be lost.
My delegation yields the time to the chair.- Delegate gives the extra time to the chair
so they decide what to do with it.
