1. Imagine you're either Frankenstein or the monster. Would you have acted differently?
Why / Why not?
If I was Frankenstein I would have acted different because I give someone life because it
goes against ethics and nature and if I was the monster I would have acted exactly the
same as him because I completely understand him because is furious with the doctor
for giving him life without a purpose
2. Who's your favourite character and why?
My favourite character is the blind man because he is the only one who is kind with the
monster and he doesn’t care about the aspect of the creature
3. Who was more evil, the humans or the monster? Justify your opinion.
The humans because the monster only reacts and gives back to the people what the do
to him and how bad he feels because of the lack of empathy and ethics of the humans
4. Some people say that Frankenstein is not simply a horror story. Can you find any
other themes in the story? Discuss your ideas and your reasons for them (for example,
the dangers of experimenting with the unknown, or the fact that you shouldn’t only judge
a person by his / her appearance).
I think that there is a very tender moment which is the one when the monster and the
blind man have their first conversation which shows us how the physical side of people
is not the most important thing in the world
5. Think of another horror story that you have read or a horror film that you have seen.
Compare it with Frankenstein. Write which one you prefer and why.
I’ve read Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and I can see that as Frankenstein the
human man which should be the good one turns out to be not that good and the creation
or monster turns out to be the one which is used by the other. In my opinion I prefer
Frankenstein because I prefer the way that the author has of presenting the characters
