In the United States, the 4th of July is a national holiday of great importance, due to the fact that a historical event occurred. This day marks the Independence of the United States, and that is why it is celebrated in a patriotic way. They usually hold family gatherings, among other activities, as it is one of the most important dates in July The 4th of July tradition in the United States is the parade in Washington D.C. The origin of the festival dates back to 1776, when the North American country gained independence from Great Britain. On July 2, the Declaration of Independence was signed, and it was on July 4 that the separation of the British colonies was officially announced. In the document, the colonies indicated that they no longer wanted to be ruled by Great Britain and stated that, in the new nation that would be created, all people would be equal and have the same rights. Now, although independence took place in 1776, it was not until 1870 that Congress approved a law to make the 4th of July an official holiday at the national level

Type of food ---------------------------------------------------------------- Aside from the eating contests, one of the traditions of this day is to barbecue at home with friends and family. Not a single detail is missing from these barbecues, from patriotic motifs to music. Among the variety of food they put on the barbecue are: o Chops marinated in sauce o Hamburgers and hot dogs o Corn on the cob o Chicken marinated with spices Although they also grill several other types of meat and even meatballs, it's usually the chops that are the most successful. Of course, this meat is accompanied by sauces such as barbecue, ketchup or mustard, so that you can choose the ones that please each guest the most. Other dishes to celebrate the 4th of July Other recipes that are often accompanying meat at family or friends gatherings are macaroni and cheese and potato salad, as well as watermelons, which they love. For dessert, the most typical on that day are apple pies, cookies or also called cookies, donuts or cupcakes, which are normal cupcakes that have a layer of colored cream or fondant with the American flag on top.

Clothing worn ----------------------------------------------------- To celebrate the 4th of July, it is recommended to dress in the colors of the American flag: white, red, and blue. Some wardrobe options for the occasion include: o Red dresses for a brunch or family outing o Jeans on jeans o Combining Different Prints o Red Boots o Light blue dress On the 4th of July, it is common to see people dressed in garments that reflect their love for America. Many wear T-shirts, caps, and accessories in the colors of the flag, such as red, white, and blue. Patriotic dress is a way to show pride in the nation and to unite in the celebration of independence. The inhabitants of this country take great pride in their roots and in the "American" customs. One possible reason for this is that the mixture of nationalities and multiple cultures that has amalgamated in this nation has not allowed an agreement, however tacit, to be reached as far as the national costume is concerned, since each group defends and supports its own clothing. However, there is one fact that cannot be missed and that is that the cowboy suit is the one that has had the most impact over the years, thanks to the continuous representations that are made of it in movies, series, cartoons, songs, comics and you name it.

o Parades and shows. The inhabitants of each state prepare with floats and costumes to celebrate Independence Day. A good place to enjoy it is the National Park Service's National Mall. o Dress for the day. Some U.S. citizens choose clothing in colors that allude to the flag, such as blue, red, or white. Some even paint their faces in the shape of flags. Main characters -----------------------------------------------------

  • Benjamin Franklin He signed the Declaration of Independence and in 1778, the treaty of alliance with France. In addition, he negotiated with the French to help the colonies and became prime minister of the United States in France. By signing the Constitution on September 17, 1787, Franklin became the only father and founder to sign the five documents establishing American Independence: The Declaration of Independence, The Treaty of Concord and Commerce with France, The Treaty of Alliance with France, The Treaty of Peace with Great Britain, and The Constitution of the United States of America.
  • Thomas Jefferson He is considered to be the main creator of the Declaration of Independence, and one of the people who most influenced the formation of the new state. He was the third president of the United States for two terms, of which the consolidation of a division of functions among the constitutional powers was one of the most important aspects of his government.
  • John Adams The first U.S. vice president and the country's second president, he assisted Jefferson in the U.S. Declaration of Independence in 1776. He was one of the chief negotiators of the Treaty of Paris (1783)
  • Roger Sherman He was appointed commissary of the Connecticult troops at the beginning of the Revolutionary War; this was an experience that served him well when he was elected to the Continental Congress in 1774.

Sherman was the only person to sign the four state founding

documents: the Continental Association, the U.S.

Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, and the U.S.

Constitution.
