These changes may affect the vowel (come-came), the pronunciation (read-read) or the whole word (eat-ate). The following is a list of common irregular verbs (arranged in alphabetical order) that can be used as a study aid. Make sure you keep it for future reference. To work with this list, you may try the following » Look up the meaning of unknown verbs from the list and write them down under the “reference/meaning” column. If possible, try finding examples as well. + Expand the list by adding new items you consider can enrich your vocabulary. Feel free to share them with the rest of the class. + Highlight the verbs you use the most and start by learning those first. + Try finding patterns (become-became-become, come-came-come), but be aware of the exceptions.
