It goes without saying that each citizen pays such a large amount of money in order to finance public services. Many people claim that money collected from taxes is not used properly, and most of them are convinced that they would manage it better. However, this is not an easy task since there are quite many facilities that need this financing. Personally speaking, I can’t agree more with those who consider that green spaces have a positive impact on society. Firstly, it contributes to the reduction of pollution, and moreover, encourages people to develop healthy habits such as going for a walk or doing exercise. In other words, due to the fact that public parks or gardens are beneficial for people’s health, from my point of view they must receive money from local authorities. With regards to museums, even thought some people believe that they are not as popular as other services, we must be conscious that the more museums or expositions a city has, the more culture will be promoted. At the same time, lots of tourists can be attracted with them, for example, millions of foreigns come to Madrid each year to visit Prado’s Museums, and consequently they will spend some money in our country. Given this points we reach to the conclusion that even though there are so many facilities deserving of receiving this financing, economic sources are limited and we have to do a balance to decide which of them must receive it.
