IS PRISON AN EFFECTIVE PUNISHMENT AGAINST
CRIMEN?
As we already know, if you commit a crime such as killing or stealing, you will be
punished by the law. Prison is the most common method to punish someone who
has broken the rules of law. But, is this punishment effective?
On the one hand, prison can be good for prisoners to reflexione about what they did.
If they are seeing themself in a jail cell, alone and probably with an unpleasant prison
partner, surely some of them will regret their crime. On the other hand, I think that
prison can be insufficient for some prisoners and unfair in many cases. I have always
thought that killing someone is the worst crime you can do. Due to this, I think that it
is not fair to take someone’s life and only punish it with prison.
To conclude and answer the question, I think no. Prison is not always an effective
punishment against crime because there are greater crimes that deserve greater
punishment.
