He believed that the artist should become the guardian of the spirit and the imagination
He invented the “illuminated printing”, he combined pictures and poetic, idea that came from
a vision of his dead brother.

BOrn in england influenced by french revolution After become disillusioned by the french revolution he planned an utopian in pennsylvania without private ownership he was opium addicted Immagination and fancy Mind had 2 faculty Immagination Primary the sensory perception of reality common to every human Secondary imagination Only a poet has this capacity to dissolve the image of the experience and create a new world of the poem. Fancy inferior to imagination is the ability to transform perception into poetry, using linguistic devices. PLot divided in 7 part set at sea An old mariner tells his stories to some guests of a wedding. He was in Antarctica with his crew when he decided without reason to kill an Albatross, this broke the natural laws, in fact as a punishment they saw a phantom ship with on board the death and life-in-death cast dice. The death won the crew and the Life in death won the mariner. The crew died, the mariner, to re-establish the connection with nature started to bless the sea snakes.
