Watch and analyze the persuasive speech provided Authors: Yosef Hermosa Lecturers : Audronė Daubarienė Saulė Petronienė Introduction
I chose Ric Elias' speech, 3 things I learned while my plane crashed. I thought it was a very interesting speech and to be honest most of the times I hear or see a speech I get bored very quickly, but this speech was different, from the beginning Ric Elias caught me with his story and what I think is very important is that throughout the speech he makes some jokes that keep the audience awake and very attentive. I find it impressive the way in which few presenters manage the audience and can present the introduction, the ending and the conclusion of the story with a little humor and mystery. In this work I will analyze very carefully and in depth the speech of Ric Elias. INSTRUCTIONS
live what the presenter lived to change our way of life, to change the negative energies for the positive ones. Speech design The speech design that the presenter uses is the contrast of comparison because he uses the variation of analogy to frame the dramatic calls to action and change of attitude, he tells us his dramatic story and how it was the change and the solution to the problems he had before the accident. The linguistic devices employed by the speaker and the purpose of using those devices. The presenter uses these linguistic devices First, Ric Flias forms the perceptions of the audience since the accident he had could happen to anyone of us and he also tells us about the experiences he lived before the crash and after the crash, then we say that the presenter puts himself in the shoes of the audience and the audience puts on the presenter's shoes. About the feelings of the listeners he enters into this area of the feelings of the audience because we all identify with the experiences he lived, he says that we have to eliminate the bad energy, also he says that we have to stop postponing the ones we have to do and also he says that we have to be better parents, to be better people.
The presenter does not use visual aids.
