PROPER RACKET GRIP IN BADMINTON
Hi guys! Today I am going to show you the two basic grips of bandminton. The Forehand grip and the Backhand grip.
First, What is forehand grip?
The forehand grip is a fundamental technique used to hold the racket when executing shots on the forehand sides. This
grip enables players to generate significant racket head speed and accuracy. Mastering the forehand grip is essential for
players to effectively control the direction and pace of their shots, contributing to their overall performance on the
court.
Now, How does one correctly position their hand for a forehand grip?
The material you need for this execution is a badminton racket.
1. To start, if you’re a right handed, put your hand on the string area of the racket, and from there slide down until you
hit the handle of the racket.
2. Close your 4 fingers and touch your thumb on your index finger.
3. Your hand should form a “v” shape within the handle of the racket.
With the forehand grip it allows you to get into proper position as you turn out the racket and swing with your wrist
without anything blocking or hurting your wrist.

Now, What is Backhand Grip?
The backhand grip in badminton is a crucial technique allowing players to effectively execute shots on their non-
dominant side.By mastering this technique, players can maintain a balanced offensive and defensive game, as they can
confidently execute a wide range of shots with precision and control, regardless of the direction of play.
Now, How does one correctly position their hand for a grip?
To do the backhand grip, use your non-dominant hand and point your fingers down and place your thumb on the flat
end of your racket and apply a pinching grip
With backhand grip, your thumb helps you to push the shots forward and give you power at a very close space.
For a backhand overhead grip, you will have to hold your thumb on the groove that’s un angled to your grip.
The backhand overhead grip has two purposes. First, it allows you to swing at full power without having any restrictions
on your wrist and the second one is it gives you directional choice, you can hit straight or cross
