  1. Where would you find the ingredient "antihistamine"? You can find it in Sominex and Sleep- Eze.
  2. Aspirin has it roots in Greek history and in the 1890’s a man that worked for the Bayer Laboratories wanted to help his father. Who was this man and what did he discover? His name was Hoffman. He studied salicylates to see if he could find one with the same effect but without its side effects. He synthesized acetylsacyclic acid and discovered it came with the same relief of pain without the side effects of upset stomach.
  3. Different types of pain respond to different medications. Describe the uses of aspirin, acetaminophen, ibuprofen and antihistamines. Aspirin reduces fever and acts as an anti-inflammatory and reduces soreness in an injured area. Acetaminophen is used to fight headache pain. Ibuprofen is also an anti-inflammatory and it is widely used to treat arthritis. Antihistamines is used for temporary relief of runny nose and sneezing.
