Calculating Commission

 What is commission?

 A percent of total sales earned by an employee or business.

 Formula: Commission = percent of commission ∙ total sales

Example 1:

 An agent makes 15% commission on an athlete’s signing bonus. If the bonus is $90,000, what is the agent’s commission?

 The total commission made was $13,500.

Step 1: Convert your percent (%) to a decimal.

15% = 0.

Step 2: Multiply the decimal by the amount of money made.

Step 3: Round to the nearest cent if necessary.
