Description: An electrocardiogram, often abbreviated as an ECG, is being used to monitor the electrical activity of the heart from different angles in order to identify and localize illness (Potter, 2020). Electrodes are placed on the patient's limbs and chest to conduct an electrocardiogram (ECG). Electrical impulses from the heart are evaluated non-invasively during the cardiac cycle. The electrocardiogram provides a visual representation of the electrical activity of the heart (ECG). Doctors employ electrical impulses from heart cells to generate depolarization and activity transmission throughout the myocardium's cells in order to detect the cardiac cycle activity in real time (Miller-Keane, 2021). Each cardiac cycle produces three distinct ECG waves, which are indicated by the letters P, QRS, and T. The electrical potential fluctuations between two areas of the heart's surface are shown by these waves. Atrial and ventricular depolarization are shown by the P wave, QRS wave, and T wave, respectively (Margham, 2005.) However, the interpretation of the ECG must be done in a systematic manner. Negative repercussions may occur if the ECG is not appropriately examined. Teaching Approach, Methods and Techniques APPROACH Process Approach Process-oriented approaches will be used to tackle the topic of ECG systematic interpretation, with the intricacies of interpreting the ECG being thoroughly covered step-by-step and requiring the application of skills and knowledge. METHODS Activity Method As there’s a need of application of skills and knowledge in doing the ECG systematic interpretation, I believe that the Activity Method is the most appropriate way to apply the learnings of the students. STRATEGY /TECHNIQUE Simulation Technique I believe that simulation technique is the best way for the students to apply and utilize their skills with regards to ECG systematic interpretation. They’ll conduct the simulation in a clinic or the school’s clinic and a random student or someone will serves as the patient and the students
will be tasked to read the ECG monitor systematically and will accurately interpret and diagnose the patient.
