APPLICATION:
1. Assemblageis an artistic form or medium usually created on a defined
substrate that consists of three-dimensional elements projecting out of or
from the substrate. It is similar tocollage, a two-dimensional medium. It is
part of thevisual artsand it typically uses found objects, but is not limited
to these materials. Assemblage help portray the tradition of various
regions by requiring the viewer to question their relation to the world of
objects around them. Sometimes used as social critique or as an
exploration of the fantastical and dream worlds, Assemblage art gives
objects new meanings, makes creative connections between disparate
elements, and elevates non-art materials into the realm of art.
2. I would choose recognition because recognition appears to be a
narcissistic need of most artists. It's a healthy need because it can
motivate an artist to improve his/her work and make more of it. It can
be an unhealthy need in that it can drive someone into making art that
is a response to market forces.
