Abstract

The revolutionary trends of computerization have reached the peaks achieving global goals in all fields and sectors. The hospital management systems are getting computerized leading to a new and innovative way of approach to management. With the major hospital hosting services of HMS, this project specifically aims to computerize the Hospital day to day operation.

The usual procedure used in hospitals to admit patients is practically manual processes. It involves the receptionists taking down the patients details from the waiting section, the details are then taken to the doctor’s office where the patients are called through a queue until when it gets to the patients turn. Even though the process looks simple, it is prone to human errors and leads to inconveniences concerning the deteriorating health of the patients at the waiting room. Patients in the meantime end up with a very unsatisfying poor quality of service in the hospital.

With the total automation of Hospital, the manual dependency is minimized to a large extent. It inherits all the properties of computerizing a system which includes quick response, less processing time, non-diligence, fast recovery, robustness, flexibility, reliability, scalability.

INTRODUCTION

Background

Give overview of the background of your system including the motivation of why you chose the subject area. What activities are being done, how, which data, where data is store, who are involved, challenges, consumers of the the output, what are the inputs structure/content, etc;

Problem statement

A short overview of what your system will be solving, e.g. the challenges identified in the current system requires that a modified/new system. I propose a system that can be used in distributed environment by many users/ web based system that will address the challenges.
