Registration Process
You can easily and quickly register online http://www.britishcouncil.pk/exam/ielts
However if for any reason you are unable to register online please follow the procedure below:
Download an IELTS Application Form or obtain it from designated branches of Standard Chartered Bank.
This is to notify you that as at 1 January 2014 candidates are no longer required to
provide photographs with their IELTS Application form. All photographs for use on the
Test Report Form and candidate records will be captured on your first interaction with us i.e. either
the speaking test or the written test. IELTS will also require candidates to provide their finger scan on their
first appearance for test, refusal to comply with IELTS identity verification will prevent candidates from taking the test and they will not be eligible for any transfer or refund.
Identification Document Upload Procedure:
- Upload a clear valid copy of your CNIC/Passport using this upload function in ORS
- If you are registering with CNIC, upload both sides of this as a one page document. *Note – Please do not upload photographs”
If you are paying online than there is no need to visit the bank or courier any document to us.
Paying online does not guarantee you a seat, we will endeavour prioritise your application over one
received by payment through the bank
Test Fee:
IELTS test fee is PKR 20, 000.

Complete your registration:
If you are paying in a Bank, The below mentioned documents need to be received at your respective British Council Office no later than 7 working days from your online application and at least 5 days before your test. (Please keep in mind any courier delivery time and public holidays)

Your application will be processed upon receipt of complete and correct application form together with
confirmed payment. Your test date will be confirmed, subject to seat availability for the date you applied for at the time of receiving confirmed payment.
If no seat is available for your first preferred date, you will automatically be transferred to your next preferred test date that you indicated in your application or next available test date if you have applied online. We recommend that you retain stamped yellow color bank deposit slip and courier dispatch slip for your records. Incomplete application forms will not be processed and candidates will be informed about the reasons for objection.
Registration Acknowledgement
If you have paid online
- You will immediately be able to view an on screen acknowledgement of receipt of your application that you can print
- Simultaneously you will also receive an auto e mail acknowledging receipt of your application
- Your test date will be confirmed, subject to seat availability for the date you applied for at the time of receiving confirmed payment
- Such confirmation will be sent to you within three working days of receiving confirmed payment
If no seat is available for your first preferred date you will automatically be transferred to your next preferred test date that you indicated in your application or next available test date (as per your consent provided in the Terms & Conditions when you registered online)
If you have paid through SCB
- We will confirm your test seat within three working days of receipt of confirmed payment at our offices.
- If no seat is available for your first preferred date you will automatically be transferred to your next referred test date that you indicated in your application or next available test date)
Test Venue Details
Candidates will get their test venue details at least 3 days before the test by e mail and SMS. If you do not receive this information within the stated time, you must contact your respective Centre immediately.
Candidates will be expected to bring a copy of their venue e mail to the venue on test day.
Test day information
i) Timings
Candidate reporting time: 1215 hrs. Test start time: 1300 hrs. Approximate test ending time 1600 hrs.
ii) Late Arrivals
Candidate who arrives late (after 1300 hrs.) will not be allowed to sit for the exam and also not eligible for refund or test date transfer.
iii) Proof of Identification
You must bring the ID document that you registered with on the day of the test with the venue letter and the stationery required in transparent stationery case only.
