Map Projections Assignment
What is it?
You will create five map projection types, displayed neatly, and inserted
into your binder. These map projection types are:
1. Mercator
2. Robinson
3. Goodes Homolsine Interrupted
4. Winkel Tripel (heh, heh)
5. Gall-Peters
6. Polar (Azimuthal)
Directions:
1. Use an 8.5” x 11” standard piece of computer paper (You may put 1
or 2 map projections on each sheet)
2. Please do not draw the projections, cut and paste!!
3. Each projection type must contain 4 things:
a. The title for that projection (ex. Mercator Projection);
b. A picture of the projection;
c. Name of the creator of the projection
d. Identify the purpose of the projection
1. What does the projection show us?
2. A brief explanation of its positive aspects;
3. A brief explanation of its negative aspects.
