Intercultural communication is the study of communication between cultures and social
groupings and how culture influences communication. It refers to the wide range of
communication procedures and issues that naturally arise when people from various
religious, social, ethnic, and educational backgrounds work together in an organization or
social context. In this sense, it aims to comprehend how individuals from various countries
and cultures act, communicate and view the world around them.[1] Intercultural
communication emphasizes the acceptance and respect of those who have cultural
differences. The goal is a mutual adaptation between two or more separate cultures, rather
than complete integration, which leads to biculturalism/multiculturalism. it is said that
communication can be difficult for a variety of reasons, the most significant of which is our
cultural differences. However, with some considerations and adaptation of some cultures, it
is possible to achieve good communication, which is why learning intercultural in terms of
communication is important.

Acknowledge – Every culture has a distinct communication preference style that contributes
to their unique identity; therefore, we must acknowledge different cultures in terms of
communication. Acknowledging other cultures is a form of cultural awareness that can help
us break down cultural barriers, build cultural bridges, learn how to express ourselves
appropriately, and appreciate those who are different from us. As we have a greater
understanding of ourselves, we will be able to relate better to people from different cultures.
As a result, there is a greater sense of cultural connection and less cultural conflict.

For example, in cultural sensitivity, we must not believe that our culture, religion, or beliefs
are superior to those of others; rather, we must recognize that other beliefs exist and that we
must accept them in order for others to accept ours.

Bi-level – when we the word “BI” it means twice or two, so this just basically translates to two
levels, as we all know communications always and always require two channels which are
verbal and non-verbal. Non-verbal is critically important in terms of communication due to
cultural nuances, cultural nuances are the subtle difference in the use of phrases, words, and
beliefs that differ between countries.
