INPUT
ANSWER IS - Data that is entered into the computer system via an input or storage device.
Examples: Typing on a computer keyboard or smartphone app keys
PROCESSING
ANSWER IS - Manipulating or organizing data into information.
Examples: Every computer including smartphones has a processor that takes inputted information. The
processor manipulates that information to make new information. The human brain is a processor.
OUTPUT
ANSWER IS - The data produced by a computer after processing; also, the action of producing data.
Examples: Information found in spreadsheet, the sheet printed from a computer printer, the music that
emanates from the bluetooth speaker connected to a smartphone.
STORAGE
ANSWER IS - The media and devices used to record and hold data and programs permanently.
Examples: RAM, ROM, hard drives, CD-ROMS, DVDs, USB Drives. They all hold information that was
processed.
INTERNET
ANSWER IS - A global communication network that allows most computers to exchange information.
A group of computers and servers that are connected to each other.

ANSWER IS - Input, Output, Processing, Storage

INPUT

ANSWER IS - Data that is entered into the computer system via an input or storage device.

Examples: Typing on a computer keyboard or smartphone app keys

PROCESSING

ANSWER IS - Manipulating or organizing data into information.

ANSWER IS - A computer that runs a desktop operating system and connects to a network.

A number that uniquely identifies each computer or device connected to the Internet.

DOMAIN NAME

ANSWER IS - A set of electronic instructions, also called programs, that tells a computer what to do. A program or instructions that give directions to the computer.

PC SYSTEM COMPONENTS - Hardware

ANSWER IS - Computer parts that you can see and touch. The physical components, or parts, of the computer such as the processor, memory, cooling fans, motherboard, etc.

PC SYSTEM COMPONENTS - Peripheral Devices

ANSWER IS - All other external, physical components of the computer such as input & output devices. Components (keyboards, speakers, cameras, screens, etc), that connect to the computer

DATA STORAGE

ANSWER IS - Devices designed for storing data.

DATA STORAGE - HDD

ANSWER IS - Hard Drive Disk. A secondary storage device made up of metallic disks that stores data magnetically. Data stored is permanent.

DATA STORAGE - RAM

ANSWER IS - Random Access Memory. This is the most common type of memory read/write memory. Data is stored temporary.

DATA STORAGE - Cloud Computing

ANSWER IS - System whereby application software and data are stored on a remote Internet server. The ability to store your files and use various applications in an online account.

CONVERGENCE

ANSWER IS - The occurrence of two or more things coming together. The fusion of computing, broadcasting, audio, printing, and telecommunications into one system.

COMPUTER FILE

ANSWER IS - A file is an object on a computer that stores data, information, settings, or commands used with a computer program. In a graphical user interface (GUI) such as Microsoft Windows, files display as icons that relate to the program that opens the file.

COMPUTER FILE - Executable

ANSWER IS - An executable is a file that contains a program - that is, a particular kind of file that is capable of being executed or run as a program in the computer.

COMPUTER FILE - Data

ANSWER IS - The term may refer to a computer file that contains any type of data, including a word processing document or spreadsheet. It may also refer to a database file that contains records, such as orders and customers.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

ANSWER IS - Any product of human intellect that is intangible but has value in the marketplace. Property that results from the intellectual and creative process.
