NOTE: Please follow the directions carefully!
1. Color the four layers using this guide:
Inner Core - red
Outer Core - red-orange
Lower Mantle - orange
Middle Mantle - light orange
Upper Mantle yellow
Oceanic Crust dark brown
Continental Crust light brown
Ocean Blue
2. Fill out the small squares with the information for each of the main layers of the Earth, using
your textbook.
3. Now you may carefully cut out the layers! Also cut out the title (The Earth’s Layers), four
information squares, the 13 labels, and the Analysis & Summary Questions
4. Paste the Inner Core in the middle of the bottom section towards the top.
5. Paste The Earth's Layers title in the bottom right corner of your foldable.
6. Paste the Outer Core as close as you can get to the inner core in the 2nd section from the
bottom.
7. Paste the Mantle as close as you can get to the outer core in the 3rd section from the
bottom.
8. Paste the Crust as close as you can get to the mantle in the top section of the foldable.
9. Using a black pen or marker, add the part of the Lithospheric bracket that was cut off.
10. Paste the Inner Core Information Square to the left of the Inner Core. Paste the three other
squares inside the flaps, on the corresponding Layers.
11. Write your name and period number in the upper left-hand corner of your foldable.
12. Turn your foldable over and glue the Analysis & Summary Questions on the back.
13. Glue the labels where they belong on the layers to indicate the parts of the Earth’s layers.
14. Answer the Analysis & Summary Questions on the back.
15. Great Job! You’re done! Please turn your foldable in!
