Geometry Welcoming Project
Creative Group Activity
Mr. Bilal Halabi
Purpose: We are beginning the school year with a creative and collaborative project to
welcome you to Geometry! This activity will help you get to know your classmates while
exploring the tools we use in Geometry in a fun and hands-on way.
Project Timeline: This project will be completed during class time only from:
•Sunday, August 31, 2025
•through Wednesday, September 3, 2025
Project Task: Working in groups, create large, creative models of Geometry tools
(for example: rulers, compasses, protractors, triangles, calculators, etc.). These should be
made big enough to decorate and display on the Geometry bulletin board in the hallway.
Materials: You may use:
•Cardboard, colored paper, construction paper
•Markers, crayons, tape, glue, scissors
•Any other classroom-appropriate creative materials provided or approved
Procedure:
1. Form into groups (teacher will assign or approve groups).
2. Select a Geometry tool that your group will create.
3. Design and build a large version of the tool using the materials provided.
4. Make sure to label the tool clearly with its name and (if possible) short description of
how it is used.
5. Add creativity—colors, designs, and neat finishing touches are encouraged!
6. Submit your finished product by Wednesday, September 3.
Expectations: Your group project should:
•Be neat, creative, and durable enough to display on the hallway bulletin board.
•Clearly represent the chosen Geometry tool.
