  • The four types of devices that can classify the media formats are Print Media, Broadcast News, Film/Movies, and New Media.   1. There are 4 types of media: (a) Print Media – media consisting paper and ink, reproduced in a printing process that is traditionally mechanical. (b) Broadcast Media – media such as radio and television that reach target audiences using airwaves as the transmission medium. I Film/Movies – the oldest form of motion picture technology capable of capturing lifelike video- style images. (d) New Media – content organized and distributed on digital platforms such as the Internet.
  2. By which, Media Convergence is existing of today media platforms across several fields because of the purpose of delivering dynamic experience. It merges the mass communication outlets – print, televisions, radio, and the Internet along with portable and interactive technologies through various digital media platforms.
  3. That incorporation of media platforms has brought about the idea of Mass media which encompasses the most significant forces in modern culture. It refers to channels of communication that involves transmitting information in some way, shape or form to a large numbers of people.
  4. There is also based on the several Media Effect Theories are:  Third – Party Theory – people think they are more immune to media influence than others.  Reciprocal Effect – when a person gets media attention, it influences the way the person acts or the way the event functions.  Boomerang Effect – it refers to media-induced change that is counter to the desired change.  Cultivation Theory – it states that media exposure, specifically to television, shapes our social reality by giving us a distorted view on the amount of violence and risk in the world.  Agenda- Setting Theory – process whereby the mass media determine what we think and worry about.  Propaganda Model of Media Control – tries to understand how the population is manipulated, and how the social, economic, political attitudes are fashioned in the minds of people through propaganda.   10. Timeliness is meet when reliability, accuracy, and value of information may vary based on the time it was produced or acquired. What I Can Do Essay “How do people find information that matches my needs?” You can get some information that matches your needs in different ways such as researching on the internet, reading encyclopedias, dictionaries and communicating with other people. You need to be careful in getting information because some information is not true. You can also get information through different search engines like Google. You can choose the best information that you need by collecting all the information that you get and analyze what is the main point of all the ideas. You cannot just copy the pieces of information that you will get because it can cause plagiarism, and it is much prohibited. “How do I choose from the wide variety of information made available by different sources? ” In choosing needed information, accuracy, validity and timeliness are needed. If a source provides information but is not accurate, then that information is invalid. If another source provides another information, but is outdated, then it is invalid. In choosing VALID information, you need to cite the source and check the author if he/she is reliable. If the author is reliable, and his/her provided information is accurate, valid or punctual, then choose that information. Assessment
