To be familiar with components of the circulatory system. 2. To identify and ufderstand the functions of the circulatory system. s INTRODUCTION - * The circulatery system also referred to as the cardiovascular system plays a vital role in human physiology. The major components of the circulatory system include heart, blood vessels and blood. The major function of this system is transportation. Using blood as the trarisport vehicle; the system can deliver oxygen and nutrients throughout the body, remove wastes products of metabolism and mount body defense against infection. In this experiment, the student has an opportunity to review the basic components of the circulatory system and relate these components with their individual functions. MATERIALS / EQUIPMENT pencil coloring materials schematic illustrations from charts and textbooks * PROCEDURE ' 4. Draw the heart showing the four major chambers; valves and associated arteries and veins involved in blood circulation..Label them properly. 2. Draw the histologic layers of the arteries and veins. 3. Draw the interconnections of arteries, arterioles, veins, venules and Capillaries. 4.
