The structures of power To create order within a society, structure is required. When one enters a community or society, there are rules, status quotes, economies, and involved politics. From the superpowers to the smallest tribe, there will always be a power that involves their everyday lives, from how and what is sold to the leaders enforcing and creating new laws and discussing politics with others to help themselves or their people. This carries importance to everyone as economics and politics are a staple of how people live within societies, no matter how small they are. This essay will discuss economics and politics and the relevancy, nation-states, requirements, and real-life impact of these carry. Economics and political powers To begin with, Economics is the social science that specializes in the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services. Compared to Economics, on the other hand, political power refers to the causal relations among humans and their ability to control the behavior of those through the passage, approval, and implementation of laws and regulations. Both economics and political power are inseparable from each other yet can look different in the eyes of many. Economic relies on the political power individuals carry to change and create new methods of how their economies work. Political powers are driven by economics to hold the power they currently contain. Both control each other, and the goals both strive for change with the passage of time and the Nation-state they live in. This Nation-states and who belongs to them will be discussed next. This shows how nation-states control immigration as a way of assisting relations and slowing down the pace of certain minority groups entering the U.S. The second example is the economic impact that affects us through immigration. A study through the International Monetary Fund found that immigration has a " percentage point increase in the share of migrants in the adult population increases GDP per person in advanced economies by up to 2 percent in the longer term." Meaning that there is a monetary gain to be brought by immigrants. Another point from the article states, "Although an increase in labor supply may depress some wages initially, immigrants are often filling roles that nations — such as the U.S. — need to succeed." (Saiidi, 2018). This shows the economic benefits immigrants bring and how immigration reform can bring positive aspects to the economic financial system. Possible ways of fixing these problems are to show the benefits that would affect nation-states if immigration was seen as a positive instead of the negative that those with political powers tend to convince the people. In conclusion, the power that economics and political power have on nation-states is a vital aspect of how societies function within themselves and those who choose to enter different societies. Despite the current immigration situation, immigrants bring economic wealth into the U.S that is achieved through the low-level work that ordinary Americans wouldn't typically do in favor of white-collar jobs. In contrast, other immigrants bring ideas that affect the political power in the nation-state by-election, also binging those that come from high education backgrounds.
