I. INTRODUCTION

In this report, I will demonstrate the most important talent for achieving more success in life and at work. Communication, problem-solving, time management, and critical reasoning are among these abilities. All of these topics will be discussed in-depth in this report, and these abilities will be shown through group work. The training event is scheduled for 5 days at the University of Greenwich and will include a number of workshops, coaching sessions, and team-building activities. The requires a schedule of the types of activities proposed so that plans can be finalized. In addition, any guest speakers or motivational coaches will also require a minimum of three weeks’ notice. 2.1 Definition and the importance of communication skill

2.1.1 Definition of communication skill

Communication is the process of sending and receiving messages through verbal or non-verbal means, including speech, or oral communication; text and graphical representations (such as infographics, maps, and charts); and signs, signals and behaviours. More simply, communication is said to be "the creation and exchange of meaning." (Nordquist, 2022)

P a g e | 4 Figure 1 : Communication In his 1992 book "Communication as Culture," media critic and theorist James Carey described communication as "a symbolic process whereby reality is produced, sustained, repaired, and modified," arguing that we define our reality by sharing our experiences with others. All organisms on the planet have created ways to communicate their feelings and thoughts to one another. Humans, on the other hand, are distinguished from other animals by their ability to communicate precise meanings through words and language.

2.1.2 The importance of communication skill

Communication skills are important in every facet of life. The value of communication does not reduce when the type of communication changes with the stage of life. As a result, the following information emphasizes the importance of communication and how it varies depending on the scenario, profession, and setting. ( Team ASM IBMR, 2020) Good communication skills in life will ensure that people around you understand you and you understand them. You will be confident and assertive. There will be less misunderstandings and you will rarely face problems related to poor communication. ( Team ASM IBMR, 2020)

  • It will be easy for you to make and keep friends.
  • You will have a good relationship with your spouse, kids, family members, and friends.
  • Your daily functioning will be at its optimal best.
  • Your daily chores and errands will also happen at their optimal best.

2.2 Verbal communication

Verbal communication is the process of effectively communicating your ideas through the use of words, such as talking. Verbal communication abilities are crucial in the economic world. Voice communication is essential in any meeting, whether it's a weekly meeting or a presentation to stakeholders. Everyone remembers a communicator who Characteristics of verbal communication:

  • The message being sent is either directly or indirectly linked to an object.
  • We use concepts to communicate messages.
  • The material should be understandable to both the sender and the recipient.
  • The content of communications is influenced by cultural influences.
  • The substance of communications is influenced by the sender's state of mind while transmitting emotions and sentiments. (Anon., 2020) Figure 3 : Verbal Communication One of the most important forms of communication is verbal communication. The better your communication abilities are, the easier it will be for you to gain others' trust and form long-term

P a g e | 7 connections (Anon., 2020). Here are a few advantages of having good verbal communication skills:

  • It ensures comprehensive comprehension and allows for the clarification of any messages that may have been misinterpreted.
  • It is one of the quickest and most efficient forms of communication.
  • There is an area for providing input, allowing two or more persons to converse at the same time.
  • It is one of the most efficient and rapid modes of communication.
  • It's adaptable, in the sense that you can modify your vocabulary and tone based on the situation or the relationship you have with someone.

2.3 Non-verbal communication

The technique of transmitting and receiving messages without using words, either spoken or written, is known as nonverbal communication or manual language. Nonverbal action can emphasize sections of a verbal communication in the same way that italicizing emphasizes written material. (Nordquist, June 29, 2020) Nonverbal communication is significant because it provides us with crucial information about a situation, such as how a person is feeling, how they receive information, and how to approach a person or group of people. Paying attention to nonverbal communication and honing your ability to read it is an important skill you may use at any level of your career. (Hanne Keiling, May 26, 2022)

  • Gesture: Gestures are intertwined with our daily lives. When debating or speaking animatedly, you may wave, point, beckon or use your hands, often expressing yourself with gestures without thinking. However, the significance of some gestures varies greatly among cultures. While the hand gesture "OK" transmits a good message in English-speaking countries, it is considered offensive in countries such as Germany, Russia, and Brazil. As a result, it is critical to use caution when using gestures to avoid misinterpretation. (Nonverbal Communication, October 2020) Figure 7 : Gesture
  • Eye contact: Because most people rely heavily on their visual senses, eye contact is an especially important form of nonverbal communication. Many emotions can be communicated through the way you look at someone, including interest, affection, hostility, or attraction. Maintaining eye contact is also important for keeping the conversation moving and gauging the other person's interest and response. (Nonverbal Communication, October 2020)

  • Touch: We communicate a lot with touch. Consider how a feeble handshake, a warm bear hug, a patronizing pat on the head, or a dominating grasp on the arm all convey quite different messages. (Nonverbal Communication, October 2020) Figure 9 : Touch in non-verbal communication

2.4 Communication In my group

Both verbal and nonverbal communication has been used. In addition, we employ a number of tactics, including as animations, sports, games, film, and other activities, to ensure that participants have fully learned our highly competent soft skills. Verbal communication saves time and ensures that messages are conveyed easily and efficiently. That is the most efficient method of communication. It assists the listener in comprehending the dialogue and provides an opportunity to clarify any misunderstandings regarding the meaning of a word or notion. to present ideas in simple terms so that audiences can ask questions and obtain immediate responses My team incorporated non-verbal contact into the training phase because non-verbal signals provide context to a verbal message, and non-verbal messages can also be used to replace verbal messages when they are blocked by noise, interference, or space. Certain messages can be easily communicated when verbal and nonverbal contact signals, such as sign and signal, are combined. Nonverval communication is used quite often by us during the project implementation. About 70% of the communication between us comes from online platforms, face to face, online meetings to discuss and exchange information through current social networking platforms such as fb, zalo, gmail, etc. etc.
