Theoretical Framework The chapter addresses pertinent theories, looks at relevant research and literature, presents hypothesis, describe the conceptual framework, and includes a glossary of terms.
According to studies by C. Wretman, published in 2017, researchers assess and gather data on student’s academic performance and physical activity levels using observational studies or experiments. They began to assign their pupils to less intense to more intense exercise each week while simultaneously increasing the numbers of hours they work. As a consequence, even though they were studying and exercising, their academic performance was able to maintain and increase. Their ability to manage their time is a factor.
Viking Magazine (2023) found that,”Paly students must be very disciplined to manage their time between academics and athletics. There are choices to be made whether to prioritize sports or school, a lot of this is dependent on if they want to be recruited for their sport or not. Lincoln Tutor, a Paly senior football player and track runner, has high hopes for his final year in high school athletics for himself and others.”

The study focused on the prioritization choices between athletic and academics among student- athletes. One assumption in exploring prioritization choices between athletics and academics among student-athletes could be that these individuals face a unique set of challenges in balancing their time and energy, potentially leading to trade-offs between sports and academic commitments.
DEFINITION OF TERMS - HYPOTHESES OF THE STUDY
**1. Athlete
Research design The researchers employed the descriptive method using qualitative approaches to collect data regarding the state of student-athletes' prioritization of academics over athletics. Indeed Editorial Team, (2022), defined the goal of descriptive research is to describe a research topic, so this type of research is useful when you need more information about your topic. Articles or studies have been consulted in order to bolster the topic of the study.
Population and Sample of the Study As researchers we aim to give knowledge and spread the benefits of academics and athletic to the student-athletes. The entirety of Bataan Peninsula State University - Orani Campus is our target population, but we will only communicate with or obtain data from the student that participates in sports. Bataan Peninsula State University - Orani Campus is the most accessible place for us to conduct a survey. Through this, we are able to obtain surveys from the student-athletes, because they are the ones who participate in both school and sports.
Data Gathering 1.How many hours weekly do you allocate to athletic activities? 2.How many hours weekly do you allocate to academic studies? 3.On a scale of 1 to 10, how important is academic success to you? 4.On a scale of 1 to 10, how important is athletic success to you? 5.Have you experienced conflicts between academic and athletic commitments? If yes, how frequently? 6.What strategies do you employ to balance academics and athletics? 7.How do you perceive the impact of your athletic involvement on academic performance, and vice versa? 8.Are there specific challenges you encounter in managing both academic and athletic responsibilities, and if so, what are they?
Data Analysis This phenomenological qualitative study explored the experiences of five varsity student athletes involved in competitive athletics. The purpose is to explore their experiences both academically and athletically to see if there is a motivational transfer from athletics to academics. The data collection was a combination of interviews and observations to study an individual's lived experiences within the athletic world.
