Test Plan:
Test Method Of Testing Expected Outcome Functionality – buttons, hyperlinks and form box.
Click buttons to take you to the home page and other pages, click on the hyperlinks to take you to different charities and filling in a form box and seeing your comment in the form box section.
That all of the functionalities are working correctly without any issues.
Reliability – form box and hyperlinks.
Click on the hyperlinks to take you to different charities and filling in a form box and seeing your comment in the form box section.
That your form has got across and the hyperlinks are actually linked to the different types of charities.
Robustness – Website crashes, freezes.
Testing by going through the whole website process, going through all the pages.
No crashes and freezes.
Usability – Navigate use of the website.
Going through all the pages and navigating back to the pages you been through to make sure it’s easy to use and navigate around.
Easy to use and navigate around.
BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Information and Creative Technology Unit 13: Website Development Assignment 2: Designing the Website
I have rejected the second alternative above because I feel that the comment section won’t be necessary and needed to be inserted underneath everything on my home and index page. It’s not on the requirements list. But the first alternative that I haven’t rejected which inserts a picture on the home and index which fits to the requirements list.
Justification:
My design choices: the originals and the two alternatives. To complete the website that matches to the original alternatives designs storyboards and if completed to the required user requirements, fitted to the attended purpose, the web pages and web pages sources to the navigation chart, picture assets required for every page apart from the home page. Deciding to use what kind of pictures for every page apart from the home page, what colour would the banner, sub-heading, heading, index, text and background be, in what position the objects are and what order the web pages to be. I planned to adjust the pictures in the middle rather than by the left or right side of each page because users would be able to see each page in a clearer image in scale. I’ve chosen the colours because purple is related to blue, so the three different types of blue go well with purple.
The user requirements:
Home and index page Images of non-wild and zoo animals on every page Hyperlinks to animal charities Form box for users to report lost pets Accessibility features Caring for dogs page Caring for cats page Caring for rabbits page Caring for reptiles page Events page Animal charities page Report lost pets page
Relating back to the above user requirements is that I have met nearly all of the entire user requirements apart from images of non-wild and zoo animals on every page. I didn’t include any picture on the home and index page but have include each picture for each of the other pages. I only discarded a picture on the home and index page but no other pages because I wanted to show what pets and animals the page is about.
There are constraints that may stop me from making the website display and function to as well as I would like it to be. The certain colours I would want from my wireframe and accessibility features. I would have to refer to the tutorials for getting the certain colours I want but it will then be simple to do after I referred myself to the tutorials. The accessibility features like tag and zoom features, I will have to require tips on how to make certain accessibility features and to choose what the features would be after I fully created the pages.
The choice of design with reference to the pages, hyperlinks to animal charities and form box to report lost pets user requirements. The choice of design is to have every page in the format of the
BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Information and Creative Technology Unit 13: Website Development Assignment 2: Designing the Website
wireframe with the banner, index heading and sub heading in the same colours with black text in the background and in the index banner. The story board designs with no picture on the home and index page and pictures on the rest of the webpages. Hyperlinks to seven charity websites on the animal charities page and a form box to report lost pets on the report lost pets page. Choosing a purple colour similar to blue, I would think goes well with the different type of colours of blue. And having the pictures relate to each page apart from the home and index page. No picture on the home and index as I feel that it should have an introduction to a set of pictures on other pages when you first enter the website. I have this design in this format because the home page wouldn’t be so filled up with complications. It would be complicated because there would be too many objects besides text and it would be off putting for users. Also using only a few colours and simple layouts would make the website easy to create.
The constraints, the software that I used to create my website using Dreamweaver and internet explorer. The time would be 3 or 4 weeks for the website to be presented for the Essex pet rescue company. Requiring the basics of knowing how to setup up of the pages, text, colours, inserting images and inserting hyperlinks. In more of the complexity of using Dreamweaver to develop the website to its requirements with the index set-up to take you to other pages in internet view, creating a form box and inserting accessibility features such as zoom and alternative tags.
