Excercise 7.4 Have you heard of the dart frog? Perhaps you have seen pictures of the blue dart frog. It is very pretty, but it is also one of the most poisonous animals in the world. If you eat it or touch it, it will poison you. Blue dart frogs live in the rainforests of Central and South America. You can see them in trees and under leaves and rocks on the forest floor. Their bright blue color warns other animals not to eat them. And do you know why they are called dart frogs? It's because hunters dipped their arrows in the frog's poison. There are many species of dart frogs and the most poisonous of the dart frogs is the golden dart frog. Two micrograms of poison from this frog can kill an adult human. Amazingly, when you take the dart frog out of the rainforest, they are no longer poisonous. The poison comes from the plants and insects that they eat. Unfortunately, dart frogs are an endangered species now. The blue dart frog Is more endangered than the golden variety. This is because people want to buy these beautiful blue frogs as pets. Excercise 7.5 Compare the animals. Write sentences. Example A mouse ¡s not as intelligent as a dolphin.
