In Peru, we have a festival called Cajamarca Carnival.
It usually takes place in February from 21th to 26th.
It's a holiday to remember "Ño Carnavalon" (The mythical character that gives life to the
traditional festival, represents the God Momo who dance and sing).
Before the festival starts, many people travel to Cajamarca to stay in hotels or apartments
When the festival starts, people don't have time to rest.
This festival has a lot of activities:
1- election of the carnival queen
2- Ño Carnavalón's entrance
3- colorful costumes
4- carnival songs and dance contests.
The carnival song contest, has two prizes, one for the singer and one for the composer.
After this, many people gather in the streets to play with paint and water.

After we got home from celebration, we went to prepare the traditional meal for many
neighbors.
Traditional meals such as caldo de cabeza de carnero, caldo de gallina, tamales.
On the evening, after the meal, the Funeral of "Ño Carnavalón" is celebrated, people walk 6 km
to “Baños del Inca" and the ritual is performed, a testament is read, and finally doll is burned.
when the festival is over, the streets are filed with colors and smiles.
