CELL KINGDOM

Microorganis

m

Mr. Esteban Díaz

Topic: Unicellular and multicellular cells

Purposes:

To Identify the main characteristics between

unicellular and multicellular cells.

To create a mock-up based on the microorganism.

Restorative Action:

Students will create a summary about the topic.

  • What are microorganisms and why are they important in our

environment?

QUESTIONS

  • Can you name different types of microorganisms and briefly describe

their characteristics?

  • How have microorganisms influenced human history and

development?

UNICELLULAR CELLS

Unicellular organisms are made up of a single cell.

They are the oldest form of life, with fossil records dating back to about

3.8 billion years ago.

These unicellular organisms are invisible to the naked eye.

Most of the unicellular organisms are also prokaryotes.

Some of the examples of unicellular organisms are:

Amoeba

Euglena

Paramecium

  • Plasmodium

MULTICELLULAR CELLS

Multicellular cells refer to the individual units that make up multicellular

organisms.

These cells are characterized by their specialization and interdependence

within a larger organism.

In multicellular organisms, cells organize themselves into tissues, which in

turn form organs. These organs work together in organ systems to carry

out complex functions necessary for the survival and functioning of the

organism as a whole.

1.Muscle cells

2.Stem cell

3.Bone cells

4.Cancer cells

5.Plant cells

6.Meristematic cells

7.Ova

8.Fungal cells
