The individual report consists of explaining an example of alliance (JV or license) used
as entry mode for the international expansion of two or more firms. Students must
seek for information using different tools (internet, newspaper, books, journals,
databases…). The examples must be real and as recent as possible. The report should
explain:
-The 1) type of alliance, including the objective and motivation of all the partners
-The resources each firm is contributing with to the alliance
-A personal assessment on the appropriateness of such alliance according to the profile
of the involved firms, the countries where the alliance takes place or the industry where
the firms compete.
If possible, the reported example should be a local alliance (i.e., with a local firm from
the target country, being the partners preferably from a developed and developing
country). Global alliances (aiming to improve competitive positions on a worldwide
basis) can also be reported, but should be explained carefully focusing on their
implications for the partners’ internationalization strategy.
This is an individual activity with a maximum length of 3 pages, and the maximum
grade to obtain is 0.75 points. The deadline for uploading this activity is 17th
November 2019 at 23h55. The document will be delivered through the online campus
http://aulavirtual.uv.es. Every source of information used in the report must be correctly
referred, avoiding the inclusion of excessive inclusion of logos, images, etc. APA
