We use it for specific time or date in the past.
I’ve lived here since 2008
I’ve been here since eight o’clock.
2. For
Describe the period of time from its start until the present.
I’ve been here for ten minutes.
I’ve been here for many years.

Something than happens all the time or you want to it does.
You’ve always wanted to see “Cars”.
3. Ordinals and superlatives
This is the third time I’ve seen that movie.
It’s the best movie I’ve ever seen.
4. Lately, recently and lust
Have you seen a good movie recently/lately?
No, I’ve just seen a bad one.
5. Still and so far
You still haven’t seen “tomato sauce”
I’ve seen it three times so far!
